Initially founded in 2012 under the name Bought by Many, the U.K. company now known as ManyPets recently expanded to the United States in 2021. The provider offers pet insurance in Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Dakota,Texas, Wyoming, and West Virginia, but plans to expand in all 50 states by the end of 2021. ManyPets insurance policies are underwritten by Accredited Surety and Casualty Co.

ManyPets offers an Accident & Illness pet insurance plan that covers a wide range of treatments and services, including:

ManyPets also gives customers the option to add a pet wellness plan onto their health insurance policy at an additional charge. This coverage reimburses pet owners up to $150 a year for various routine services ranging from vaccinations, annual exams, and dental cleanings, to heartworm, flea, and tick prevention, as well as holistic care costs, including treatments and supplements for anxiety, stress, skin, coat, joints, and bones.
Exclusions
Like all pet insurance companies, ManyPets doesn’t cover pets with pre-existing conditions, except for conditions that have been treatment-free and symptom-free for 18 months. Other policy exclusions include:
- Cosmetic and elective procedures
- Treatment, medication, and supplements not approved by the FDA
- Behavioral therapy or medication
- Prescription diets
- Breeding
- Grooming
- Boarding
- Daycare
Some conditions, such as hip dysplasia, may be excluded if your pet enrolls after a certain age.
Pricing
ManyPets insurance rates start at $15/month for cats and $20/month for dogs. However, the cost of pet insurance depends on various factors, including your pet’s breed, age, location, and selected plan.
Pet owners can adjust the cost of ManyPets insurance protection by choosing from one of four reimbursement rates (70%, 80%, 90%, or 100%) and five deductible amounts ($0, $100, $250, $500, or $750).
ManyPets doesn’t have any lifetime or annual limits, which are other variables that typically affect rates.

Claims and reimbursement times
ManyPets processes 99% of the claims within 48 hours. Once the claim is approved, the payment will be made within 24 hours. To make a claim, you need to email ManyPets with the treatment receipt and a copy of the invoice from your veterinarian.

- The waiting period for accidents or illnesses is reduced to only 24 hours if you are switching over from another provider. Otherwise, you must wait 15 days before the pet insurance policy kicks in.
What could be improved
- ManyPets is not available in all U.S. states as of December, 2021.
- If you are looking for an Accident-Only plan, you will have to consider other providers.
- The waiting period of 15 days for accidents is longer than some other pet insurance companies. For instance, Embrace and Lemonade have a two-day waiting period for accidents.
- ManyPets doesn’t cover behavioral therapy, unlike many other providers, and hip dysplasia is also not covered for pets enrolled at the age of six or older.
